Huawei has kickstarted its global analyst summit 2018 edition in Shenzhen, and during the event, the company detailed its plans for the next year. With 5G set to take over the market in 2019, Huawei has announced that it will debut its first 5G phone in Q3 2019.

It is possible that Huawei Mate 30 (if this year's model is dubbed Mate 20) will be the first 5G phone from the company given the timing which perfectly lines-up with previous Mate launches. Whats interesting is that it will use the company's own 5G modem; Balong 5G01 chip which it unveiled at Mobile World Congress. It is said to deliver a bandwidth of 2.3Gbps. Considering the size of the Balong chipset, it is most likely to be used in mobile hotspots and self-driving cars rather than phones, but Huawei is also working on a 5G modem especially designed for phones.
Huawei is also said to be looking to be an end-to-end services provider for 5G which will deliver network equipment to service providers when the 5G-ready hardware is available to consumers.
The company is also predicting that there will be 1.1 billion 5G connections by 2025, along with 200 million 5G-connected cars. That's an interesting target; it needs to be seen ...

Huawei's Honor brand just announced the Honor 10, the company's latest flagship smartphone in China, as it had promised. It packs a 5.84-inch Full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a notch and 19:9 aspect ratio, is powered by an Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 970 10nm SoC with i7 co-processor,runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with EMUI 8.1 on top, same as the P20 that was introduced last month.
It has has dual rear cameras with 16-megapixel RGB sensor and 24-megapixel monochrome sensor with 2x Zoom, LED flash, AI scene recognition that accurately identifies people, animals, grass, sky, and a 24-megapixel front-facing camera with AI beautification and support for face unlock. Huawei's Honor brand confirmed Android Oreo update to several devices including the Honor 7X recently. It even started beta testing the Oreo update for the phone last month, before the stable roll out. Honor roll out Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Honor 8 Pro in India back in February that brought several new features including option to make VoLTE calls on Vodafone and Jio. Today the company has pushed a new update that adds Face unlock, AR Lens for the camera as well as VoLTE support for Idea Cellular, which started rolling out VoLTE services for consumers earlier this week.
The Honor 8 Pro update (DUK-L09 8.0.0.320) is 627MB in size and includes Android security update for April 2018 as improvements and bug fixes. Check out the complete changelog below.

According to the listing on World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Huawei has received a patent for a gaming smartwatch. The application was initially filed in December 2017 and follows patents with the Chinese Intellectual Office from 2015 and 2016 for development of the technology.
The patent is titled 'Smart wearable device and control method for the smart wearable device.' Since this patent goes back to 2015, it looks like the company has now further developed the technology and is seeing an opportunity to implement this in an end product. The documentation is detailed and shows that the smartwatch is fully focused on gaming.
Huawei is aiming to incorporate functions in the watch band, since operating via the touchscreen has some drawbacks. However, this isn't the first time Huawei has patented for a new smartwatch with operations where the watch band plays an important role. But it is the first that the operations are fully tuned and dedicated to gaming.

Huawei has announced Y3 (2018), the company's first Android Oreo (Go edition) smartphone. It packs a 5-inch FWVGA display, is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor with 1GB RAM, has an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Huawei is expected to launch the new Watch 2 2018 edition sometime this year, and today the wearable has surfaced on the internet, thanks to famous leakster Evan Blass. Huawei will be launching the Watch 2 2018 edition sometime this year, but we don't have the exact time frame of the same. The company recently patented a smartwatch that is specially designed for gaming. Though the Watch 2 2018 edition looks feature rich, it is not expected to come with NFC support.

Now Honor India has sent out invite for the launch of its budget Honor 7C smartphone in India on May 22nd. Even though the invite doesn't mention the name of the phone, the teaser image clearly shows the design and the dual rear cameras of the phone. User manual of both the Honor 7C and Honor 7A were uploaded to Honor India site recently, so we might see both the phones
The phone is a direct competitor to the Redmi 5 that was launched earlier this year starting at Rs. 7999. Since the Honor 7X is exclusively to Amazon.in the 7C might go the same route.

Even though we have seen the Huawei P20 series with the notch, the Honor 10 is the first smartphone from Honor with a notch on the top. The phone packs a 5.84-inch Full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio and has 82.6% screen-to-body ratio, making it compact to hold. It is powered by Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 970 10nm SoC with i7 co-processor with 6GB RAM and runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with EMUI 8.1 on top.
The notch houses the earpiece, sensor and a 24-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and AI features for selfie portraits and AI-powered studio lighting effects. The 4-in-1 light-fusion technology promises sharp and focused pictures even in low light. It also has Face unlock. There is also an option to hide the notch, similar to the P20 series.
