Huawei's Honor Brand has introduced Honor Play 7, which is the company's latest budget smartphone in China. It was certified last month, and packs a 5.45-inch HD+ display, is powered by  MediaTek MT6739 SoC with 2GB RAM, comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, both with LED flash. It features dedicated dual SIM and microSD slots and packs a 3020mAh battery. Huawei's Honor brand just launched the Honor 7A and Honor 7C , the company's latest budget smartphones in the '7 series' in India, as it had promised. Both the phones have a 5.7-inch and 5.99-inch 18:9 FullView 2.5D curved glass displays, respectively, come with a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a 2-megapixel secondary camera to capture depth information in portrait shots. There is also an 8-megapixel front camera with LED flash on both the phones. These feature a fingerprint sensor on the back, in addition to face unlock. These run Android 8.0 (Oreo) with the company's own EMUI 8.0 on top, have dedicated dual SIM and microSD slots and pack a 3000mAh battery. Huawei’s Honor brand confirmed Android Oreo update to several devices including the Honor 7X recently. It even started beta testing the Oreo update for the phone in March, before the stable roll out. The company started rolling out the update in batches in India for couple of weeks. Now the company has rolled out the update for all the users in the country. This will bring several new features including a new floating navigation dock, photo gallery recycle bin, Seamless LinkedIn integration, option to connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time as well as VoLTE support for Vodafone,Idea and Reliance Jio, however some say that Idea VoLTE is not enabled yet. Huawei launches accidental protection plans for Huawei and Honor smartphones in India

Huawei today has announced affordable protection plans for Huawei and Honor smartphones. It has partnered with OneAssist, ubiquitous platform for assistance and protection programs to provide these plans to consumers in India. The new protection plan is available on all smartphones available on Amazon.in. The protection plan is available for Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei P20 lite, and all Honor smartphones including Honor 7X, Honor V10, Honor 8 Pro, among others. The protection plans start from Rs. 1249 and are valid for one year from the date of the activation of the program. According to the company, the new protection plans will cover any kind of accidental and liquid damage to the device, including unintentional drops. Under these plans, the customers are entitled to free pick up and drop, 24x7 on-call assistance, cashless claim service among others. The free pickup-drop service is available for customers on a PAN India basis. The plan auto-activates within 15 days of purchase. Huawei currently has 21 exclusive service centers and 250+ authorized service centers. Huawei said to have teamed up with Chinese display maker BOE for an 8-inch foldable smartphone

It is already known that Huawei is working on a foldable smartphone that might be launched sometime this year or early 2019. Today, new reports emerge from Korea’s ET News outlet who claims that Huawei has teamed up with Chinese display maker BOE to supply the display for an 8-inch foldable smartphone.  This new report comes just over a month after we learned that the company might push forward the foldable phone launch date to November to have upper hand against Samsung. The new report interestingly reveals that BOE is said to be working on a total of four foldable smartphones for two companies, probably Samsung could be one among them, it wouldn't be surprising if other local brands, such as Xiaomi or Oppo team up with the local display maker. Xiaomi back in 2016 had filed a patent for a device with a foldable display. OPPO has also produced a foldable phone patent. Huawei is busy prepping to launch the MediaPad M5 tablet as the device is now spotted passing through the FCC. According to the FCC listing, it sports an 8-inches display, support for eSIM. The tablet has passed through the FCC Huawei MediaPad M5 wp; the WP might stand for WaterPlay so, it might be introduced as Huawei MediaPad M5 WaterPlay. Since it has water in the naming, it is fairly obvious that the tablet is waterproof so that would fit nicely into Huawei’s WaterPlay lineup. Huawei's Honor brand today scheduled an event on June 6th in Beijing where it will introduce it new Honor Play series smartphones with AI capabilities. The company says that it will have a breakthrough technology. It will also introduce new Honor 9i smartphone (not to be confused with the Honor 9i that was launched in India last year). After Honor 7X, Honor 9 Lite is now being manufactured in Tamil Nadu

Huawei’s Honor brand back in February started manufacturing the Honor 7X in Tamil Nadu, India in partnership with Flex at its plant in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai. Today the company announced that now started manufacturing Honor 9 Lite locally in India in the same plant, as a commitment to ‘Make in India’ initiative. Today at an event in China the company said that its top-end and some of the mid-range smartphones, including the Honor 9 Lite will get a new GPU Turbo technology to boost the phone's performance, especially when gaming. Honor Clear Headphones is the first wired headphones with real-time heart rate detection

Along with the Honor Play and the new Honor 9i smartphones, the company also introduced new Clear Headphones, which is the world's first headphones to feature sensors for real-time heart-rate detection. It also trains you to relax by analysing your stress level by heart rate variability (HRV) algorithm and provides feedback. It it is certified for Hi-Res audio playback. The real-time heart rate detection is done using the optical heart rate monitor located on the right earbud. The company says that heart rate monitoring should work with Huawei and Honor smartphones as well as any Android smartphone with the Huawei Health app. The heart rate index which is developed with the institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences to quickly access the users' psychological stress level and output the corresponding heart rate index. The earbuds are made of soft, skin-friendly material offering all-day comfort, and it comes with ear fins and eartips in three different sizes. It has a MEMS microphone and in-line music and volume controls. Rumors suggest that the next Mate series flagship is said to be called the Huawei Mate 2o/Mate 20 Pro in-line with the P-series flagships.
