Huawei’s Honor brand started selling the Honor 9 Lite smartphone exclusively on Flipkart last week. The phone sold out in record 6 minutes of the sale opening, selling at a the rate of over 150 units per second on January 21st midnight and it sold out in 3 minutes in the second sale on January 21st 12 noon. Later it sold the smartphone on January 23rd at 12 noon, which was sold out in 120 seconds.

Today the company has announced that the phone was sold out in 120 seconds once the sale opened at 12 noon, same as the previous sale.

Quite lately, Honor has been launching smartphones with an aggressive pricing strategy to cement its place in the Indian market. It is already known that Huawei has backed out of the MWC 2018 event with the P20 announcement and now it is learned that the flagships will be announced at a separate event in March. Press invites for the event have already been sent out to the media. The new report falls in-line with the earlier rumored information.
Though the invite doesn't explicitly mention about P20, the "new flagship devices" are probably going be P20 and P20 Plus. The P20 duo is the successors to the P10 flagships that were introduced back in 2017 at the MWC 2017. The March 27th data is exactly a month after the MWC 2018 event.
The rumored specifications of the P20 include a larger display and will be powered by the Kirin 970 SoC and is also said to feature a 40-megapixel triple rear camera with 5x hybrid zoom, along with a 24 MP front-facing camera. It will run on Android Oreo 8.0 or 8.1 with EMUI on top. Like the Mate 10 series, the P20 series might also pack the A.I enhancements.

Huawei's Honor brand introduced new Red edition of the Honor 7X in China back in December and it was introduced for the global markets at the CES 2018 last month. Today Amazon.in has started teasing the Red Limited Edition smartphone in India. The company also confirmed that the Honor7X is now made in India and the company in partnership with Flex has started manufacturing the phone at Flex's plant in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai
The Red variant will join the Black, Blue and Gold color variants that were launched in India in December exclusively on Amazon.in starting at Rs. 12,999. After selling the phone through flash sale every week, the phone is now available through open sale. The Red edition is expected to available in limited quantities since the company already said that only 20,000 units will be made available for the overseas market.
Regarding the Red edition, Honor at the CES 2018 said, "Red version offers customers a passionate, energetic new color and a terrific out-of-box experience". It also said that the phone will get Face unlock sometime in Q1 2018 through OTA update. The Honor View 10 recently got the Face Unlock feature.

Honor recently confirmed the list of phones that will be getting the Android 8.0 Oreo update which also included the Honor 8 Pro. Today Honor 8 Pro and the Honor 9 phones started receiving the Oreo update with EMUI 8.0 in the UK.
While the Honor 8 Pro is the first one to the Oreo update with EMUI features, the Honor 9 will follow "slightly later" in the region. There is no word on the international roll out yet, but if the initial roll out yields positive results, it shouldn't be long before the stable roll out begins. Android Oreo features including Picture-in-Picture mode, notification dots, new emojis, and much more, are accounted for.
Honor claims that the EMIUI 8.0 will result in improved boot times and more efficient handling of background activity. Smart tips also get boosted with more accurate user recommendations based on usage. The company earlier clarified that EMUI 8.0 based Oreo update for the Honor 6X is currently under evaluation. On the other hand, Honor 7X is slated to get the Oreo update bringing features like Face Unlock, and more.

Honor 9 Lite was launched in Sapphire blue, Glacier Grey and Midnight Black colors last month starting at Rs. 10,999. Today the company has announced that the Glacier Grey version will finally available from next sale exclusively on Flipkart.
Earlier this week the company has announced that the phone was sold out in 120 seconds in the fourth sale, once the sale opened at 12 noon, same as the previous sale. Huawei was supposed to introduce the P20 at the MWC 2018 event later this month, but the company backed out and is now launching at a later date on March 27th in Paris falling in-line with the reports. Today, it is learned that the P20 will likely run on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.1 on top according to XDA Developers.
Back when the P20 first surfaced it is said that the phone will run on Android 8.0 with EMUI 8.0.1, but according to the latest firmware files obtained for the same phone, the P20 will most definitely run on the latest Android version with Huawei's custom skin baked on top. However, the features of the most recent EMUI version will remain a mystery for now. Flashing the firmware on a Kirin 970 powered Huawei Mate 10 didn't help either.
On a different note, a new case render of the P20 which surfaced today gives us a clean look at the rear side of the P20. Four upcoming Huawei smartphones with model numbers FLA-TL10, FLA-AL00, LDN-TL00 and LND-TL30 have surfaced on TENAA in China. These show only images of the phones, one thing common with all these phones are full-screen display, dual rear cameras and rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The Huawei LDN-TL00 in Blue color seems to have a polycarbonate body and the image shows shiny frame.
The Huawei FLA-TL10 and Huawei FLA-AL00 have a similar design with antenna bands on the top and bottom parts of the back. These also have dual front cameras in addition to dual rear cameras. Looking at the similar camera arrangement, this could belong to the Nova series.
Finally, the Honor LND-TL30 model also has dual front and rear cameras. The rear cameras are arranged in a single block that includes the LED flash. This will have a metal finish in the middle and plastic finish on the top and the bottom parts of the back, according to the image.
We should know more details about these smartphones when the phones get certified.

Huawei is expected to introduce its flagship smartphones in the P20 series at separate event in March in Paris. Some case renders of the smartphones surfaced, now the P20 Lite smartphone with the model number ANE-LX1 has been certified by the FCC.
This reveals about 6-inch display for the smartphone, iPhone X-like top-notch along with IR sensor for face unlock, vertical dual rear camera arrangement, as revealed in renders and 148mm height.
It also reveals that it will run Android 8.0 (Oreo), even though recent reports revealed that the P20 will come with Android 8.1 with EMIUI 8.1. It further reveals a 2900mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging, Hybrid Dual SIM support and WiFi 802.11n support.
Earlier rumors indicated that the phone will come in Midnight Black, Klein Blue and Sakura Pink colors. We should know more details about the phone in the coming weeks.

Huawei's Honor brand recently said that the Honor7X is now made in India and the company in partnership with Flex has started manufacturing the phone at Flex’s plant in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai. Today the company has announced that the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version of the smartphone will be available across Honor partner stores pan India starting from February 9th at the same online price of Rs. 15,999.

Huawei has sent out media invitations for an event in Paris on March 27th where the company is expected to introduce the P20 and P20 Plus along with a lite variant, just as expected. The invite reads " SEE MOOORE with A.I." There are three '0' in the background of the teaser image giving us a hint that the P20 series will actually have triple rear cameras.
While the lite variant will settle for a dual rear camera setup, the P20 and P20 Plus will likely have triple rear cameras making them the first handsets in the market with three cameras. If rumors are to be believed, the third camera said to offer a 5x hybrid zoom. Even in the word 'MOOORE' there are three 'O' confirming that at least two models will have triple rear cameras.

Huawei P20 series is all set to go official at a special event in Paris on March 27th. With the launch inching closer, we are hearing more details about the flagships. Today according to the firmware files obtained by @FunkyHuawei, the man behind most Huawei and Honor leaks, the P20 Plus variant is said to feature an always-on display and a massive 4000mAh battery.
The P20 Plus contains Huawei’s Always on Display APK which is pre-installed. Previous Huawei phone to feature an Always on Display feature is the Mate 10 Pro which is also the company's first flagship to have OLED screen. However, it is unclear if the P20 Plus will have an OLED screen or not at the moment, though the possibility is strong.
As for the battery, the P20 Plus is said to feature a massive 4000mAh battery according to the apps through Android’s APIs. Further, we also found that the regular P20’s battery capacity is 3,320 mAh a fairly decent capacity unit. We're not very sure about the RAM/ROM of the two devices, but if anything the Plus variant will have an advantage. Huawei's Honor brand has announced that it has started rolling out a new software update to enable Face unlock feature in Honor 9 Lite smartphone in India, as it had promised. Face Unlock for the Honor View 10 was released last month. The Honor 7X got the feature in China recently, which is expected to be roll out for the Indian users along with the Android Oreo update soon.
To enable face recognition, you need to enroll your face by accessing Face recognition feature in phone settings menu. You can enroll your face by simply looking at the camera. By detecting your face, Honor 9 Lite detects the positioning between you and the phone and adjusts the direction accordingly.
The new update that brings Face unlock for the Honor 9 Lite will roll out starting today which is being pushed in batches. The company says that all the Honor 9 Lite should get the update by 5th March 2018. We should also get the full changelog soon.

Huawei's Honor brand introduced new Red edition of the Honor 7X in China back in December and it was introduced for the global markets at the CES 2018 last month. Today Amazon.in has started teasing the Red Limited Edition smartphone in India. The company also confirmed that the Honor7X is now made in India and the company in partnership with Flex has started manufacturing the phone at Flex's plant in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai
The Red variant will join the Black, Blue and Gold color variants that were launched in India in December exclusively on Amazon.in starting at Rs. 12,999. After selling the phone through flash sale every week, the phone is now available through open sale. The Red edition is expected to available in limited quantities since the company already said that only 20,000 units will be made available for the overseas market.
Regarding the Red edition, Honor at the CES 2018 said, "Red version offers customers a passionate, energetic new color and a terrific out-of-box experience". It also said that the phone will get Face unlock sometime in Q1 2018 through OTA update. The Honor View 10 recently got the Face Unlock feature.

Honor recently confirmed the list of phones that will be getting the Android 8.0 Oreo update which also included the Honor 8 Pro. Today Honor 8 Pro and the Honor 9 phones started receiving the Oreo update with EMUI 8.0 in the UK.
While the Honor 8 Pro is the first one to the Oreo update with EMUI features, the Honor 9 will follow "slightly later" in the region. There is no word on the international roll out yet, but if the initial roll out yields positive results, it shouldn't be long before the stable roll out begins. Android Oreo features including Picture-in-Picture mode, notification dots, new emojis, and much more, are accounted for.
Honor claims that the EMIUI 8.0 will result in improved boot times and more efficient handling of background activity. Huawei was supposed to introduce the P20 at the MWC 2018 event later this month, but the company backed out and is now launching at a later date on March 27th in Paris falling in-line with the reports. Today, it is learned that the P20 will likely run on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.1 on top according to XDA Developers.
Back when the P20 first surfaced it is said that the phone will run on Android 8.0 with EMUI 8.0.1, but according to the latest firmware files obtained for the same phone, the P20 will most definitely run on the latest Android version with Huawei's custom skin baked on top. However, the features of the most recent EMUI version will remain a mystery for now. Flashing the firmware on a Kirin 970 powered Huawei Mate 10 didn't help either.

Four upcoming Huawei smartphones with model numbers FLA-TL10, FLA-AL00, LDN-TL00 and LND-TL30 have surfaced on TENAA in China. These show only images of the phones, one thing common with all these phones are full-screen display, dual rear cameras and rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The Huawei LDN-TL00 in Blue color seems to have a polycarbonate body and the image shows shiny frame.
The Huawei FLA-TL10 and Huawei FLA-AL00 have a similar design with antenna bands on the top and bottom parts of the back. These also have dual front cameras in addition to dual rear cameras. Looking at the similar camera arrangement, this could belong to the Nova series.
Finally, the Honor LND-TL30 model also has dual front and rear cameras. The rear cameras are arranged in a single block that includes the LED flash. This will have a metal finish in the middle and plastic finish on the top and the bottom parts of the back, according to the image.

Huawei is expected to introduce its flagship smartphones in the P20 series at separate event in March in Paris. Some case renders of the smartphones surfaced, now the P20 Lite smartphone with the model number ANE-LX1 has been certified by the FCC.
This reveals about 6-inch display for the smartphone, iPhone X-like top-notch along with IR sensor for face unlock, vertical dual rear camera arrangement, as revealed in renders and 148mm height.
It also reveals that it will run Android 8.0 (Oreo), even though recent reports revealed that the P20 will come with Android 8.1 with EMIUI 8.1. It further reveals a 2900mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging, Hybrid Dual SIM support and WiFi 802.11n support.
Earlier rumors indicated that the phone will come in Midnight Black, Klein Blue and Sakura Pink colors. We should know more details about the phone in the coming weeks.

Huawei has sent out media invitations for an event in Paris on March 27th where the company is expected to introduce the P20 and P20 Plus along with a lite variant, just as expected. The invite reads " SEE MOOORE with A.I." There are three '0' in the background of the teaser image giving us a hint that the P20 series will actually have triple rear cameras.
While the lite variant will settle for a dual rear camera setup, the P20 and P20 Plus will likely have triple rear cameras making them the first handsets in the market with three cameras. Huawei P20 series is all set to go official at a special event in Paris on March 27th. With the launch inching closer, we are hearing more details about the flagships. Today according to the firmware files obtained by @FunkyHuawei, the man behind most Huawei and Honor leaks, the P20 Plus variant is said to feature an always-on display and a massive 4000mAh battery.
The P20 Plus contains Huawei’s Always on Display APK which is pre-installed. Previous Huawei phone to feature an Always on Display feature is the Mate 10 Pro which is also the company's first flagship to have OLED screen. However, it is unclear if the P20 Plus will have an OLED screen or not at the moment, though the possibility is strong.
As for the battery, the P20 Plus is said to feature a massive 4000mAh battery according to the apps through Android’s APIs. Further, we also found that the regular P20’s battery capacity is 3,320 mAh a fairly decent capacity unit. We're not very sure about the RAM/ROM of the two devices, but if anything the Plus variant will have an advantage. Previously it is reported that the Huawei P20 Plus will have an iPhone X style top-notch with triple rear cameras.

Huawei's Honor brand has announced that it has started rolling out a new software update to enable Face unlock feature in Honor 9 Lite smartphone in India, as it had promised. Face Unlock for the Honor View 10 was released last month. The Honor 7X got the feature in China recently, which is expected to be roll out for the Indian users along with the Android Oreo update soon.
To enable face recognition, you need to enroll your face by accessing Face recognition feature in phone settings menu. You can enroll your face by simply looking at the camera. By detecting your face, Honor 9 Lite detects the positioning between you and the phone and adjusts the direction accordingly.
The new update that brings Face unlock for the Honor 9 Lite will roll out starting today which is being pushed in batches. The company says that all the Honor 9 Lite should get the update by 5th March 2018. We should also get the full changelog soon.
